Building te ao Māori capability in the workplace.
The need to connect authentically with Māori communities and stakeholders is just one of the reasons many organisations in Aotearoa New Zealand are dedicated to enhancing the capability within their teams to better embrace te ao Māori and further understand the revival of mātauranga Māori.
A growing commitment to honoring Te Tiriti o Waitangi is also a key driver behind this movement, and as the Māori economy continues to flourish, organisations are gaining a better understanding that Māori values and knowledge can provide innovative thinking.
More importantly, this increased capability sets up our workplaces to contribute to the social justice movement that looks to address the deep-rooted historical, cultural and systemic inequities faced by tangata whenua, creating a fairer future for everyone.
But what does increased Māori capability look like and how do we support our people to understand indigenous cultural processes and embrace kaupapa Māori?
Diversity Sessions are interactive online conversations where we can explore inclusion issues impacting our organisations and our people.
Join this session where we will look at how we can connect to Māori philosphy and principles in an authentic way.
