Data is vital to creating systemic change. Those working within the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) space need diversity data to effectively identify issues, challenge assumptions and consider holistic perspectives to make the kinds of changes their people need.
This workshop has been designed to guide participants on how to approach diversity data collection and use it to support their organisation’s overall DEI mahi.
The collection of this information is inherently technical and can be complex, both in terms of systems requirements and DEI expertise. It is entirely possible to collect and handle diversity data safely and responsibly; but the legal and ethical implications involved in doing so must be thoroughly considered.
Learning objectives
· Explore the rationale for collecting and using diversity data, and its legal, ethical and cultural implications
· Discuss how to use diversity data to better understand and improve the employee experience
· Consider the role of diversity data in relation to systems change and strategic DEI implementation
